Once a month on a Tuesday, the Château des Comtes de Challes hotel and restaurant in Savoie hosts a wine-tasting evening featuring the owner and/or winemaker from a selected estate. A learning ground for knowledgeable enthusiasts and casual epicureans alike, these evenings provide a unique exploratory experience and rare moments of sharing between guests, winemakers, and sommeliers.
When emotional power meets educational value. After an aperitif in the stunning 15th-century cellar of the château, punctuated by a guided tasting of five wines, guests take their seats at the dining tables of the gourmet restaurant for a dinner pairing dishes with wines. The aim is to explore not just one theme but all its variations: pleasure. The enjoyment continues with the opportunity to purchase select bottles that evening at very special prices.
One to two times a month, the Château des Comtes de Challes hotel and restaurant also welcomes musicians and singers for lively dinner concerts. Organized as communal tables for six to ten people, guests enjoy a multi-flavored dinner crafted by Chef Pascal Colliat (three courses, coffee, and mignardises) alongside an intimate concert. Sharing and transmission, music is a language of emotion that resonates deeply.
With its 2-hectare park, the Château des Comtes de Challes hotel and restaurant in Savoie offers a refreshing and inspiring setting. Here, the gaze plunges over the Combe de Savoie and the surrounding mountains. The park is also home to a unique arboretum in Savoie. Legend has it that the Comtes de Challes systematically brought back rare tree species from their distant travels as symbols of fortune: Chinese palm, tulip tree from Virginia, cypress from Arizona, Japanese persimmon, cedar from Lebanon, and catalpa.
This treasure, still rooted in the park, now features an educational trail with explanatory panels and descriptive sheets: the arboretum. The result of extensive collaboration with the National Forestry Office, the arboretum of Château des Comtes de Challes catalogs some remarkable specimens, such as a 500-year-old linden tree and an even older yew tree. Open to schools and the general public, this freely accessible area offers another way to share the château and awaken sensitivity to the power of nature.
In the building "La Demeure du Parc," the hotel-restaurant Le Château des Comtes de Challes in Savoie offers a wellness and massage room run by practitioner and reflexologist Véronique Ciaramella, Escale Massage.

Reservation and practical information:
During a stay at the Château or for external guests, massages are available by reservation through the reception, specifying the chosen massage. The Wellness Room is open Monday to Sunday from 9 am to 9 pm, by appointment only. Any missed or canceled massage appointments within less than 24 hours will still be charged.

Destroyed in a fire in 1728, the original chapel of the Château des Comtes de Challes finds contemporary resonance through the Saint-Jacques Oratory, built by the Trèves family upon their acquisition of the château. On the first floor of La Demeure du Parc, in the vaulted room of the Tour de Garde, the oratory features stained glass, frescoes, and statues of Saint Roch and Saint Jacques, who show the way to Compostela, as well as the original coats of arms of the Comtes de Challes and Milliet. Beyond spirituality, the chapel-oratory of the château serves as a refuge for those seeking a moment of peace in a fast-paced society that is constantly changing. Open for self-guided visits.
